What Makes a Salt Lamp Bowl Different?
A salt lamp bowl looks quite different from the usual solid rock salt lamp.
The bowl is filled with smaller chunks of salt. The light sits underneath or inside the bowl and shines through the pieces above it.
Once it is switched on, some of the salt can look quite bright while other pieces stay darker. You may see a mix of pink, orange and deeper shades depending on the salt used.
The pieces will not all match either. Some may be smoother while others have rough edges or darker lines through them.
That is really part of the look of this type of lamp.
A salt lamp bowl can work well on a side table, shelf or cabinet. This is perfect if you want something a little different from the usual upright salt lamp.
If you are buying one as a gift, have a look at the overall size first. Some bowls are fairly compact while others take up quite a bit more room than they seem to in the photos.
It is also worth checking the individual product page for the type of bulb, cable and power connection included with the lamp.
